The Super Division season began with a bang on the 25th of October for Mumbai Strikers SC as they edged past Air India U-19 by a score of 1-0. MSSC Head Coach Firmin D’souza fielded his best eleven which also included three debutantes Melron Mascarenhas, Nitin Kumar and Ryan John. All three lined up in three different departments of the field. The new comers did not disappoint as they put up a more than fabulous performance and contributed majorly to the deserved win.

Melron M started up ahead with Ravish D in the attack while Nitin Kumar looked fantastic in the midfield area. Ryan John started as Centre Back and took command of the defensive department. Melron M kept the Air India defense busy with his trickery and also had a few shots on target. He also managed to provide the assist for the only goal scored in the match. A quick-footed Nitin K was unstoppable in the midfield as he tested the Air India defense on several occasions with some fantastic aerial passes into their penalty area. Ryan J brought experience into the MSSC defense and was stubborn when it came to defending. His ability to win aerial balls and break dangerous moves added tremendous value to the defensive department.

Overall the debutantes impressed in their first game of the season and Coach Firmin D’souza would certainly hope their good form continues throughout the season.
