MS stepped in with a number of changes in the line-up for the encounter owing to the unavailabilty and injuries of some players. Saurabh S took up the gloves in the absence of the keeper Vatsal B and was the surprise element. At the onset, MS were scrappy while attacking but still created a few chances while the defense were confident and strong. With no team breaking the deadlock, the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Nitin K looked threatening as he delivered some dangerous passes into the opponent penalty area and drove in a few times beating the defenders. After numerous attempts, came the moment of glory when Rakesh P powered his way through an outstep right footer into the goal. AB Mumbra FC got their chance at the MS goal, but Saurabh S outclassed their effort by a magnificent save and kept MS in the driver’s seat. The final score read 1-0 in favor of Mumbai Strikers and for his valiant save Saurabh was declared Man of the Match.
