On a very hot afternoon and on a new venue, Mumbai Strikers SC recorded an emphatic win against a paltry Fr Agnel in their third game of the Super Division campaign. The fixture was held for the first time at the RCF grounds, Chembur under warm conditions. Having drawn the earlier match against Income Tax, MS intended to make the best of this game and snatch all three points.

The match began with several attacks from MS as they dominated proceedings most of the time in the first half. Akshay Modak looked in top form as he dumped in two goals to give MS a 2-0 lead in the first half. In the second half, MS kept the momentum high and got near to the goal on many occasions but did not find the net. However, Arsalan H stepped up and got the scoring on once again. Arsalan scored the first of this season and the score read 3-0. Akshay Modak followed quickly and ran riot to score his third of the game and completed his hattrick. It looked like MS would not concede a goal, but much to his disappointment of MS Keeper Abhishek S, Fr Agnels scored a consolation goal and erased any chances of a clean sheet. The party was not over yet as Arsalan H found the net once again off a Ravish D assist and made it a 5 star performance for MS with 5 goals on the board. Towards the dying minutes of the game, the situation got tense as tempers grew wild and in the bargain the referee had to give marching orders to a few players. MS recorded their second win of the season and have 7 points of 3 games.

MS Head Coach Firmin D has called for more focus on the season as they face RBI on the 28th of February 2017 at the Cooperage Ground.
