The girls from St Marys are in the news once again and this time it is for a different reason altogether. After making it big in Handball at MSSA’s tournament, the girls clinched top honours in Touch Rugby as well at the 9th Mumbai Interschool Touch Rugby Championship 2015 held on 22nd January. The tournament was held at the plush Lions Municipal Sports Complex located in Santacruz and was attended by schools from all over Mumbai. A whopping 76 teams were listed for the tournament.

St Marys stood 1st in the U-12 girls category and they went on to win the top three spots in both the U-14 and U-17 categories. The girls were outstanding in some of the tight encounters which they faced on their road to the finals. The tournament lasted for the entire day and despite the warm and humid climate, the girls packed a punch in each match to win the tournament in each category. The teams were accompanied  by members of the Mumbai Strikers Rugby team who have also been coaching the girls for the past few years.

MSSC congratulates the girls on yet another glorious achievement and wish them luck for many such tournaments.
