The 2nd Edition of the Independence Cup Touch Rugby Championship was held on the 24th of August 2014 at the Sevaram Lalwani Marg School Grounds. The tournament received an overwhelming response from teams all over Mumbai. After a series of exciting matches, the best teams made it to the finals in the Mens, Womens and Mixed categories.

The Mixed category saw an all Mumbai Strikers final match where Mumbai Strikers A beat Mumbai Strikers B by a convincing scoreline of 5 - 1. Roshni S scored 2 for the A team while Vijay N, Ravish D and Ruchi S scored one each. Ritika P scored the solitary point for Mumbai Strikers B.

The Tacklers faced the Egg Chasers in the final match of the Women’s category. The Egg Chasers were favorites in the encounter as their squad included National Level players with immense experience in the game. All were in for a surprise as the Tacklers trained by the MS Rugby coaches clean sweeped the Chasers with a comprehensive score of 4 - 0. Gargee was the star performer for the winners with 3 tries in the game and to pile on the misery on their experienced opponents Shreeya S scored another. The Tacklers grabbed the silverware in the Women’s category.

The Mens final match managed to keep everyone on the edge of their seats as Ace Foundation (Mankhurd) proved to be the eventual winners in a tight encounter against Mumbai Strikers B. A resilient Ace Foundation beat Mumbai Strikers B by a scoreline of 2 - 1. Shehbaz scored both the tries for Ace Foundation while Rakesh P scored 1 for the MS team.
