Mumbai Strikers (MS) were on a high as they clinched the winners trophy in the Football tournament of the Nahur Mahotsav 2014 held at the Rajiv Gandhi Sports Ground, Nahur. The tournament was a part of a big sports festival organised by the Nahur Sports Group and was held on Christmas Day and also on the 26th of December. It was a major improvement for MS as they ended at the runners-up position in the tournament held at the Rmall turf in the last weekend.

The squad for this tournament was a bit different from the previous one which included Akshay D, Ravish D, Pranav M, Abhijit S, Amit S, Arnold M and Rakesh P. It was a tough start  for the MS lads as they drew their first game against SM Shetty FC which was a stalemate and went into a penalty shoot-out. MS moved on to the next round by winning 2-1 in the shoot-out. The second game against El Shadaai also ended 1-1 and the result remained the same as MS emerged victorious with a 1-0 score in the shoot-out. MS then made it to the next round to face Rijoh FC to whom they lost the finals at the Nirmalites Rink Football tournament held at Rmall. It was an entertaining game and this time the result was different as MS defeated them 1-0 in regular playtime. MS marched on to qualify for the Final League where they first defeated the local lads Nahur Boys ‘B’ by a comfortable score of 3-0 and then locked horns with Vikhrolians FC for the final bout. The score remained 0-0 at the end of regulation time and MS won the shoot-out by a margin of 2 goals to nil.

At the end of it all, Mumbai Strikers recovered well and ended the year on a high by winning the Football Tournament of Nahur Mahotsav 2014.
