After an exquisite performance at the 35th National Games in Kerala, Mumbai Strikers Rugby trainees Ruchi S and Shikha T continued their winning run at the recently held Mini Olympics of Maharashtra at the plush Bombay Gymkhana Grounds. Their passion for Rugby grows as time goes by and it is clearly evident by the accolades they achieve in almost every tournament they play.

Ruchi and Shikha represented Mumbai Suburban at the Mini Olympics which was held on the 27th of June this year. The tournament was held by Maharashtra Olympic Association (MOA) in association with the Rugby Association of Maharashtra (RAM) who hosted the event. Pune, Raigad, Mumbai Suburban, Jalgaon, Gondia, Chandrapur, Thane and Nandurbar were the teams that took part in the Rugby tournament of the Olympic event. Ruchi S made a mark in the tournament as she scored a try against champions Pune in one of the encounters.

After a rich display of aggressive and entertaining Rugby, Pune stood first to claim the gold medal while Raigad grabbed the Silver spot. Mumbai Suburban finished third and won the Bronze medal.
